Rental Car Lemon Law

Last year, Enterprise Rent a Car (which includes Alamo and national) gave a statement saying that the company's policy is to not rent vehicles recovered until proper repairs and/or replacements are performed if involve "the risk of sudden loss of security controlefalhas-restraint system or the risk of fire" and that other recalls "direct logo as possible, "according to Laura Bryant, a spokesman for the company. This statement, however, contradicts the fact that company recently admitted in Court that two women died in a Chrysler PT Cruiser rented by the company when it caught fire and fell as a direct result of Enterprise Rent-a-car failed to fix the vehicle must be collected.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched an investigation after the main bit there when the Federal Trade Commission consumer group was invited by consumers for Auto reliability and safety (cars) and the automatic request Security Center Enterprise to start to fix recalled vehicles before rent them.

NHTSA began requiring Ford, General Motors and Chrysler corporation to provide details about how quickly certain vehicles recovered were fixed for rental agencies. The information provided by the manufacturers showed that in some cases months went by without any repair being preformed on faulty vehicles.

NHTSA now is requiring major car hire companies provide details about its security operations, saying that he hoped "car companies to provide insurance cars for their customers, showing vehicles recovered for manufacturers appropriate for proper security fixes in a timely manner". At the end of March, NHTSA has sent letters to Hertz, Avis, Thrifty and dollar firm asking specific questions aimed at obtaining the crux of how being treated recalls.

The car rental companies must respond within three weeks. Unfortunately, there is a loop-hole: NHTSA does not have the Santander to force the car rental companies to fulfill more than he can force consumers to repair their own vehicles. This is where we enter.

Consultations are always free.
