Have you ever wondered if other people who have the same year, make, model of car that you are having the same problem (s) you're finding? If you did, there are ways to find out.
One of the possible warning signs that your car can be a lemon, is whether the manufacturer has issued a technical service bulletin ("TSB") about the problem you are experiencing with your car. A TSB is a warning or procedure recommended by manufacturers for their repair facilities that addresses the solution to a known issue (it has to be security-realted).
Keep in mind the "correction" in the TSB can (or can't fix) you drive, but it is proof that your car may have a defect. (This is especially true if you take your car or truck in for repair and service people say that they cannot find [or can't duplicate] the problem that is occurring).
If the problem is serious enough to be a security concern, may be issued a "Recall". A Recall is issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The easiest way to think about a Recall is that usually is connected to a design or parts failures that could affect the safety of the vehicle. (For example, problems of braking, steering problems, delaying, fire danger etc.) These faults can be discovered by drivers or manufacturer itself. (How to get new cars designed and built in shorter and shorter and less and less time for testing. They essentially do the test on the street. Problems may appear during months or up to one year or more after they are put up for sale.) NHTSA will investigate the problem and justified question a recall requires the manufacturer to notify the purchases of vehicles affect the Recall of the problem and what to do to get it repaired.
You can find out about recalls and TSBs, go to the NHTSA
You can also find other owners complained even though not TSBs or recalls were issued by go to the website NTSHA.
The are also many sites on the Internet dedicated to discussions of specific vehicle where you can leave messages and get answers from other people who have or know about your vehicle. You can go to a search engine and type in a keyword related to your car or truck and problems and you can find one that is useful.
BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT JUST BECAUSE THERE IS NO TSBS, RECALLS OR COMPLAINTS CONCERNING PROBLEMS YOU ARE EXPERIENCING DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOUR CAR IS NOT A LEMON. MANY PROBLEMS ARE ONLY WITH SPECIFIC INDIVIDUAL VEHICLES.
